I love history so now I am tracking my family. This data is not well organized but here goes.
These are the different families that I am following:
Gay, Teague, Teel, Moatts and Johnson
William Martin Teague Sr.(1843-1915) ran for mayor of Montgomery, AL around 1905. Here is a campaign flyer.
Revolutionary War Activity:
Civil War units my family served in:
Thomas Jefferson Teel was in the 53rd Alabama Cavalry.
William Martin Teague was in the 3rd Alabama Infantry.

World War II
Paul T. Johnson (my grandfather) was in the navy during WWII. He served in the pacific on a supply ship for the Island hopping campaigns. His ship was reported lost at sea when it was separated from his convey. Stay tuned for news clipings!!
James Gay b. march 20 1743/44 died Feb 1819 lived in Iredell Co. NC
(I believe he was born in Ireland if anyone has info on his ancestors I
would be grateful.)

AL d. June 1883 Montgomery Co., AL). They were married on October 11, 1860
in Montgomery Co, AL near Pine Level.
They had 6 children

Julius Brown Gay remarried Feb 17, 1885 to Mary Ellen Jones (d. Sept 14th
1937). They were married on Woodley Rd. in Montgomery Co., AL
They had one child
Julius Brown Gay jr. (b. Apr 3, 1886 d. Jan 17, 1927)
Ida Belle Gay was born June 1890 and died July 13, 1932. There is no
record
of the father.
Julius Brown Gay Died in Los Angeles in 1887 if any one knows what he was
doing please let me know. He was buried in Montgomery, AL.

They had two children
John Floyd Gay III b.April 4, 1930 in Birmingham, AL he is currently
living
in Toledo, OH
Dorthy Gay b. Dec 21, 1936 d. Jan 22, 1995 in B'ham, AL
Dorthy Married several times but had no children
John F. Gay III married Mary Paula Johnson in 1962 (divorced in 1990)
They had two children
Melissa Gay b. Jul 18, 1968
John Floyd Gay IV b. Feb 3, 1970
Melissa married Brian Cooksey in 1995 and is living in Nashville, TN
John married Mary Catherine Powell in 1995 (divorced in 1999) and is living
in Atlanta, GA.
